In a world that lives off of authenticity, it’s difficult to uncover what you see someone portraying on social media is real or not.
The majority of us want to be authentic on social media.
We also want to be true to ourselves and express ourselves freely.
But do you truly know who you are?
I don’t mean just personality wise.
I saw the movie, The Sun Is Also A Star and it was pretty good. The concept from the movie of how love works when it’s meant to be was a good interpretation.
Unsurprisingly, as always from films I watch, I found a lesson I could apply to my life and I want to share it with you.
I was eating spicy fried rice and afterwards, I got really bad heartburn that wouldn’t go away.
Being dramatic, I placed my hand on my chest to feel my heart racing and that had me thinking:
What am I feeding my heart? Whatever I eat, those nutrients are being absorbed into my bloodstream and that blood is passing through my heart.
So what am I feeding my heart?
Do you repeat the same mistakes? Try to do better. Think better. But then still fail and it’s the same cycle all over again? I know I’ve been there.
I want to be a better person for the Lord, but then I fail and trip over the same mistakes over..and over…again.
How are you succeeding at being who you are? Are you bathing in God’s grace and mercy and who He created you to be? Or are you bathing in guilt, shame, and worry?
Here are five signs you are failing your inner self by not being who you are:
All I want to do is lay around all day. On my off days from work, all I want to do is sleep, watch youtube videos, and catch up on my TV shows. What I should be doing is taking care of my responsibilities, chores, and start writing that book I’ve been procrastinating. Time and […]
You’ve been hungry all day.
So you order your favorite pizza with your favorite toppings?
And the best part? Your pizza was free.
What happens when you eat that first hot slice of cheesy pizza?
Your taste buds salivate, your eyes close in pure bliss, and you make that “mmm” sound, right? You feel that temporary feeling of peace like everything is right in the world.
Isn’t that type of peace what we all want on a day-to-day basis?
Society has it set where finding your calling and purpose is the top priority to living a successful life. As a Christian, some people feel if they don’t fulfill their “purpose” or “calling” for the Lord, then they’ve failed God.
I’ve been there.
After spending time with the Lord, I realized there is one more thing the Lord finds most important above our calling or purpose.
In my last post, From Now On, I explained how James was changing his focus from fame to Jesus. He will focus on enjoying his life right now instead of always thinking about, “what’s next?”
This post, The Greatest Show, is the last post from this series! It’s about God being our “Greatest Showman” and how we can bask in His love.
How many times do we quit when we get a “no”? How many times do we quit when we don’t see the results from our hard work? Or maybe, how many times do you feel discouraged?
Here’s a reminder to never give up.
In my previous posts, I discussed the songs from The Greatest Showman and how each song portrays a part of our relationship with the Lord. I’ve reordered the songs to tell a story about a man named James growing an intimate relationship with the Lord. Click the links below to read the previous posts: A Million Dreams; Come […]
