Why We Should Cling To God When We Are Tired of it All

Are you ever just tired of it all? You see so many great things happening for others—people that seem like they don’t even deserve it. You see so much going on in the world and it makes you wonder if there is even a God in the world. You may wonder: How can you trust someone you don’t even see? You’ve tried to do right yet bad things keep happening over and over again?

I think we’ve all been at a low point in life where you wonder WHY is this happening and WHEN will it end?

Truth is, we live in a broken world. Life won’t always be sunshine and rainbows. We will go through horrible things and it sucks. I mean, Jesus was the perfect man on earth and look how He died. I don’t know what you may be going through today but don’t lose hope.

It can be hard to trust someone who you can’t see but that’s when we pick up the Scripture and hold on to the Truth. God is all around us. From the sounds of leaves falling to the kind words of a friend. Don’t allow the enemy make you doubt God’s promise that He is always there for you.

When you are weary, cling to God. Praise Him. Talk to Him. He’s holding you through it all. “For I am the LORD your God who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you” (Isaiah 41:13 NIV). God feels what you’re feeling. Don’t let the devil whisper lies to you. When negative thoughts begin to form or when bad circumstances knock on your door, the devil knows it’s the perfect time to attack. And as God’s children, we should know it’s time to pick up our sword—the Scripture—and cling to God; giving him all our problems (Ephesians 6:17-18).

“Because you are my helper, I sing for joy  in the shadow of your wings. I cling to you; your strong right hand holds me securely”  (Psalms 63:7-8 NLT).

So in these troubling times, continue to seek Him despite the enemies attacks. “Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when  you seek me with all your heart” (Jeremiah 29:12-13 NIV).

Everything is just a moment (Psalms 39:4-7). Don’t allow this season to break you. We are strong. As children of Christ, we have a spirit of power, love, and self-control (2 Timothy 1:7). Believe that. Meditate on that. And watch your mindset shift towards the Truth.

Let’s remember God’s promises today. He is always with you.

“But blessed is the one who trusts in the LORD, whose confidence is in him. They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit” (Jeremiah 17:7-8)
