While watching The Lion King, I couldn’t help but take away a few life lessons from the film. Simba’s story reminded me of stories from the bible. Here are 5 lessons I learned from the film:
I saw Spiderman: Far From Home recently and let me tell you? AMAZING! It was so good. In the movie, Peter Parker has his “peter tingle” (at least that’s what Aunt May calls it) that helps him know when danger is nearby. It’s really just his spidey senses.
When Peter started trusting his “peter tingle”, he was able to conquer the obstacles in front of him. And that had me thinking: Peter’s spidey senses are really just his sixth sense. If Peter can use his sixth sense, what about us?
I saw the movie, The Sun Is Also A Star and it was pretty good. The concept from the movie of how love works when it’s meant to be was a good interpretation.
Unsurprisingly, as always from films I watch, I found a lesson I could apply to my life and I want to share it with you.
In my last post, From Now On, I explained how James was changing his focus from fame to Jesus. He will focus on enjoying his life right now instead of always thinking about, “what’s next?”
This post, The Greatest Show, is the last post from this series! It’s about God being our “Greatest Showman” and how we can bask in His love.
In my previous posts, I discussed the songs from The Greatest Showman and how each song portrays a part of our relationship with the Lord. I’ve reordered the songs to tell a story about a man named James growing an intimate relationship with the Lord. Click the links below to read the previous posts: A Million Dreams; Come […]
In This Is Me, James has decided to embrace who he is—his bruises and all. Now, in Tightrope, James is trusting God with his life and he realizes this journey is certainly not easy, but he isn’t giving up hope this time.

In this post, we’ll discuss the lyrics from Rewrite the Stars. In Rewrite the Stars, God is explaining that James is the apple of His eye (Psalms 17:8 NIV; Deuteronomy 32:10 NIV), but James feels he does not deserve God’s love; ultimately not accepting the freedom God has given him.
In Never Enough, James realizes this world will never be enough for him. He realizes he needs to fill himself up with more promises and truth from the Lord. He tried living a worldly life full of money, status, etc. and now he’s trying to follow God but life is still rough. Well, this song is James expressing (worshipping) to God that this world is not enough for him and he only needs God to help him get through life.
This song is about taking chances in life. When Hugh Jackman is singing, that is God saying, “Why stay in your comfort zone? Take a risk with me. If you want to live to your full potential that I have created you for, you have to step out of your comfort zone. Trust me. You won’t regret it.”
